'Mad World' Features New Cinerama Process

Deseret News, 19 February 1964, page B3

A new Cinerama process will be introduced with the Mountain West premiere of "Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" tonight at the Villa Theater.

The process features the Cinerama effect without the center lines that have been a stumbling block to the development of Cinerama since the beginning. This progress is made by projecting the image on the Cinerama screen through one machine rather than three.

"Mad . . . World" has the kinds of sequence that benefit from Cinerama and are shown to best advantage by the one-machine projector.

Most of the scenes require the giant screen for most effective presentation. Great expanses of country figure in many of the scenes.

"Mad . . . World" premieres at 8:30 tonight as a benefit for the Utah Heart Fund campaign, with Thiokol of Utah assisting in sponsorship.
